Mounting instructions for Sherpa and Cold Springs rear racks

This rack is designed to mount on the outside of your bike’s axle dropouts and fastened using our included longer quick-release skewer.

This package includes:

1x — Quick-release skewer
2 x — Aluminum angled brackets
2 x — Aluminum slotted extender bars
2 x — M6 x 20 mm bolts for brake posts
4 x — M6 x 16 mm bolts
4 x — M6 stainless nuts
10 x — Stainless washers

Necessary tools:

4 mm Allen wrench, and a
10 mm open-ended wrench

 

For Bicycles with V Brakes or Cantilever Brakes:

  1. Remove your existing brake bolts and place the angle bracket over the threaded hole with the tab outboard from the wheel.

  2. Use the supplied M6 x 20 mm bolts to bolt the angle bracket to the brake studs.
  3. Use the Supplied M6 x 16 mm bolts to attach the extender bar to the outside of the angle bracket (use the side with one hole).

  4. Remove existing quick release skewer (along with springs) and place rack on the outside of hub dropouts. Insert the OMM skewer (no springs) and clamp rack to bike.
  5. Use the remaining M6 x 16 mm bolts to attach the extenders to the slotted side bar of the rack.
  6. Now level your rack and check all hardware for tightness, and enjoy the ride.

Clamp Instructions:

For Bicycles with No V Brakes or Cantilever Brakes:

  1. Place the pre-measured OMM Band clamp around the seat stay or upper swing arm approxamently one inch below the level of the rim.

  2. Close the clamp and then attach the extender to the outside of the clamp using the single hole side of the extender using the M6 x 16 mm bolt.
  3. Remove existing quick release skewer (along with springs) and place rack on the outside of hub dropouts. Insert the OMM skewer (no springs) and clamp rack to bike.

  4. Use remaining M6 x 16 mm bolts to attach the extenders to the slotted sidebar on the rack.
  5. Now level the rack and check all hardware for tightness and enjoy the ride.
